As we prepare for the 1st International Wheat Congress, we are pleased to provide the following information to our speakers.
Plenary speakers have been scheduled for 30 minutes. We suggest targeting 25 minutes to allow five minutes for questions/discussion.
The remaining oral presentations have a duration of 20 minutes. We suggest that you target your presentation for 16 minutes, to allow for a short question period.
A visual timer will be mounted to the presentation podium to provide a visual cue of the time remaining. Since we do have concurrent sessions, it is imperative that you comply with the timeslot. Our session chairs have been given strict instructions to stop presentations after the allotted time.
IN THE MEETING ROOM:
Please ensure that you go to the presentation room 15 minutes before the start of your session to meet the Chair. Conference staff will be available in the session rooms for assistance.
Two Session Chairs will be moderating each of our Congress sessions. They will provide a short biography prior to you starting your presentation. Please arrive at the stage area as you are being introduced to avoid any unnecessary delays. We will be preparing notes for our session chairs, which will include your biography.
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS FOR PRESENTATIONS:
All presentations will be in a High Definition, WIDESCREEN format. To take full advantage of the widescreen format, we recommend that you build your presentation to 16:9.
We also strongly recommend using Microsoft Office PowerPoint for your presentation. Please note that the congress computers are being supplied with PowerPoint 2013. Videos should be embedded into the presentation. You will not be allowed to use your own computer for presentation.
Note: presentations made at smaller resolution will not scale, resulting in poor resolution.
If you choose to build your presentation using a Mac, please take the time in the speaker ready room to double check that the presentation works properly on our platform. Please note that Macs are not compatible with the presentation system!

It is very important that you chose “Allana Johnson” when sending the files on the portal or else, your presentations will not be linked to the First International Wheat Congress!

If you did not upload your presentation before the start of the Congress, you can do so in the Speaker’s Ready Room where our staff will be available to answer your questions.
